Here’s what I don’t get about Kobold… Sure they make some attractive watches but what have they done that’s really innovative? I really like their SMG-1 but their modifications to it have been sort of a failure and they had to discontinue it and refit problematic ones to be sans mods. They get ETA movements, pop them [...] Cost of a watch = History + Reputation + Quality + Brand Message + Exclusivity History: How long have they been around, did they do anything significant horologically in the past, did someone famous wear it doing something famous, how well do they channel history into their current messaging Get an IWC It really depends on the watch since Tag and Omega both make great watches. Tag is a bit more bargain value Macy’s special but they have some interesting designs and the newer Grand Carreras are a good looking watch.
